Premium high quality canvas that makes the artwork look fantastic! We only print on an extra heavy 430gsm photographic fine art blend for archival quality (NOTE: The higher the weight the heavier & thicker the canvas, when we say heavyweight canvas we actually mean heavy - 430gsm heavy.)
To carry our original design vision through to a fantastic high quality finished product we did a lot of research and testing before launching our product. We found a lot of the canvases available are thinner and poor quality and just didn’t come up to the standard we wanted. It’s like T-Shirt fabric - you can feel the difference in weight and see the difference in style between a thin cheap chain store T-Shirt and a premium thicker weight, designer T-Shirt. We know that as well as being extremely style conscious our customers also appreciate excellent designer quality.
The artworks are printed using the latest technology in Giclee Printing which prints using revolutionary pigment inks formulated with in-built U.V protection to inhibit fading. It is also treated with two coats of a protective laminate to seal the canvas as well as provide a protective coating against scratches, U.V and moisture.
Basically because it’s poor quality and looks terrible! Not only are the economy canvases thinner, they are a chemical smorgasbord containing optical brightener additives and fluorescent whitening agents. Even more importantly, they will not stand the test of time, and will yellow!
YES. We are the original designers of the placesnames personalised canvas artworks in New Zealand. All of the artwork designs on our website are design by us and exclusive to us. Every artwork produced is copyright protected to us.
We can BUT each artwork is designed in a size that best suits the design, as the design comes first. We think the over-all designer look is important and we don’t want our designs to be dictated by size when we are designing them. We all tend to see A4 & A3 and other A-Series sized papers and posters around us everydayso they have become very stock standard to the eye.
You can have anything you wish that is important to you. We can also do accents on letters if you wish and words from other languages.
Varying the length of the words creates more contrast which makes it more interesting to look at. Yes the short words will be the big ones and the long words will be smaller to fit across the width of the artwork design.
This gives the artwork more depth and adds to the uniqueness of the artwork, giving it a designer feel. If you want the background a different plain solid colour please let us know as we can do this for you. (Extra charges may apply depending on request.)
We have designed each artwork in a font style that best suits the design. If you would like a different font please contact us and we will try to accommodate your request. Not all fonts suit this style of artwork. (Extra charges may apply depending on request.)
This is a small title you can add to the work if you wish. Examples are : Jack & Jill's favourite places (insert your own names), Our special places, Stepping stones, From past to present, Dates (years), New Zealand - Home , Our World, Our Adventures. For wedding presents: Name of the Bride & Groom and date of their marriage. For Birthdays: Year of birth, Happy 00th, Love your family.
Because each order is specifically produced please allow approximately 8-12 working days for your artwork to arrive from approval of your proof and confirmation of your payment. While we endeavour to deliver all artworks within this time frame, we cannot always guarantee a delivery date. If you have a specific time frame you require the artwork in please notify us when you place your order and we will endeavour accommodate your request.
All PERSONALISED artworks will be proofed via e-mail before printing. Up to three rounds of proofs are allowed for in the proofing stage per design/order. Additional proofs will be chargeable. We will advise of any extra charges before proceeding. It is the customers responsibility to check all material for accuracy, spelling and sign off before the production phase.
Any cancellations of personalised place name artwork orders after the first proof may incur a design fee of $90.00 (incl gst).
We cannot stress enough how important it is to check your proof carefully. It is the customers responsibility to check & proof the artwork. We always copy and paste the text you send us to avoid any typos slipping through at our end. Because a lot of the place names and names have unusual spelling we do not run a spell check through the design. We proof all artwork to you to sign off. If mistakes are found after sign off by the customer no reprints or refunds can be given on artwork. SORRY!
The final printed colours on canvas can vary from what you see on your screen because the process for viewing the artwork onscreen is different to the printing process. We have endeavoured to represent the colours the best we can on the website.
Our stretched artworks are quite large in size and they do add up to be a large volumetric weight which makes them very costly to ship overseas. While we do take the utmost care in packaging the stretched canvases, they are very fragile and any overseas travel requires more steps and handling where the item might get damaged as a large stretched canvas.
For all overseas orders we suggest the artwork is purchased as a un-stretched canvas artwork and you consider one of the following options:
All un-stretched canvases with & without banner ends are wrapped in tissue paper and sent rolled in a tube. This is by far the safest way to transport the artwork overseas.
Overseas delivery will incur extra charges. This can be quoted for once you advise us of the size of artwork you are looking at ordering and the delivery address.
For shipment outside New Zealand, the total shipping cost will NOT include customs, brokerage and other fees, which differ from country to country. These charges will be collected at the time of delivery by the shipping company.
